"Socialism can keep businesses honest." Unfortunately, all forms of socialism rely on the honesty of the people in power. Who keeps them honest? You might mention some sort of bureaucratic oversight committee, but those can be corrupted as well.
As for capitalism not allowing the working or poor to improve their status, this is not true on an individual basis. There is always room for advancement for those who are both diligent and competent.

Capitalism has its pros and cons and so does socialism. Capitalism allows the free market to stimulate and keep the economy flowing. Socialism can keep businesses honest. Capitalism doesn't allow the working or poor class to improve their status. Under capitalism there will always be a middle class. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Besides, government in America doesn't do much to "create" recessions. I mean, this is so bogus! You have all the Obamoids blaming Bush and McCain for "screwing up" the economy when a recession was destined to happen sooner or later. Bush didn't deregulate a whole lot, either. He's a neocon who believes in big gov't, just like his followers in the administration or the Weekly Standard.

I hate hearing "failed economic policies" over and over. What "failed" economic policies?? We had a boom from like late 2002 to 2005 or 2006, didn't we?? Sounds like they didn't "fail" to me. And just b/c we're in a recession again, big deal. We'll get out of it like we always do! Recessions and booms come and go. Why is Obama so ignorant of economics? Furthermore, why is the entire DNC so ignorant?

If capital movements are free, tax on currencies are free, there's what economists call a VIRTUAL PARLIAMENT of investors & lenders who actually vote every minute, in fact. If they don't like what the government is doing, they ATTACK the currency.
Hence, economic liberalisation is a usurpation of democracy by imposing a private TYRANNY of investors on the populace.
"Free-market" policies are really imposing Social Darwinism on the people.

If you don't want a adapt national health care, or increase funds for food stamps, social security or any kind of program I understand your perspective, although I don't agree. But why should tax payers subsidize profesional union-busters? If you don't want governement programs then don't complain when workers organize on their own to keep the very wealth that they THEMSELVES create. And don't get upset when partiots point out that we have the biggest income gap in our nation since 1929!!!

...the government cannot inject money into the economy without first taking money out of the private sector through taxing or borrowing. Who knew that when Obama said "change" he meant a return to the threadbare fiscal policies of LBJ? Dec. 1, 2008 National Reveiw |
