You mean the style of not going deep enough to get any decent gold and of losing all the gold he does have before getting his concentrates in his pan! He sticks his finger in the sluice while water is running through at least five times and then dumps all his concentrates in the creek while panning! That was frigg'n hilarious.

Fresh water with cotton balls in it may weigh 8.5 pounds to the gallon, but fine quartz gravel would weigh twice that. I've had basaltic sands that weighed 80 pounds to a partly filled 5 gallon bucket.Thats 20 buckets to the cubic yard. A vibrator plate is great for separating those fine concentrates. Half or more of ALL gold is invisible to the naked eye-which doesent mean its not there. Its all about knowing how to concentrate and separate it. Good luck and happy camping.
