Demo of the first Apple Macintosh by Steve Jobs, January 1984, in front of 3000 people. Andy Hertzfeld captured the moment quite well in his retelling: "Pandemonium reigns as the demo completes. Steve has the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face, obviously holding back tears as he is overwhelmed by the moment. The ovation continues for at least five minutes before he quiets the crowd down."

And an IBM/MS PC at the same time could do what?

Well the comparable Dell or HP machines are all pretty equal in price to the macpro. It's only if you're going to build your own or buy a cheap piece of shit that you'll save considerable money.

Dude, it's great that you love your PC, but do a little research before you post. Microsoft ganked its interface from the Mac (who ganked it from Xerox first). I was typing into a DOS prompt to launch Lotus 123 in the late 80's. Both companies were profoundly important in the history of the personal computer.
