Glock 17 pistol: Reference Standard, Part 1

PART 1 of 4: Nutnfancy's review of the outstanding G17 pistol. Mired in un-founded controversy, the superb Glock 17 came to us in the 1980s. It was a ground breaking design that still stands tall to this day. It was the result of a start-from-scratch design by Austrian Mechanical Engineer Gaston Glock who had no previous firearms design experience. Amazing. To this day the Glock semi-auto pistols are Nutnfancys overall standard of measure for any new pistol design (especially in 9mm). When I study a new design I assess it on terms of some straight forward questions. Does it beat the Glock in terms of weight, firepower, durability and reliability, ergonomics, simplicity, availability of accessories, price, and proven track record? Generally the answer is no. Yes there are some great designs out there from other manufacturers and I'm a fan of those as well. But, when the above categories are objectively tallied and considered in their entirety, the Glock design usually comes out on top (at least for my system requirements). That's an amazing feat for a design that's decades old. Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 10 out of 10

Your right the 1911 is the most popular handgun and the most accurate but lets just stick to the topic of the Glock 17. By the way you cant forget the Kimber Worrior heh or the SA Operator.

I like just about all firearms (1911s, XDs, S&Ws, Sigs, etc.), but I especially love Glocks. Simplicity, durability, and reliability in the $500 range. Can't beat it. My Glock 17 is my home defense pistol while I have two Glock 26 subcompacts that alternate for my daily carry gun. Great review.

Thank you for this review!! I have always been a Combat Commander .45 fan, Walther's P99 or SigP229 fan. I got one of these for Christmas and also a Berretta Px4Storm. I love my Glock. I've put at least a thousand rounds through both the Beretta and the Glock, both preformed flawlessly. I am glad I got 2 different brands of pistol's for X mas. Very awesome gun the 17. Great video as always brother! Thank you for your videos!! Have a safe and happy NYE. 1SG.Patterson 1st./506-RCT
